Golden Turmeric Latte

There’s nothing like a hot, sweet beverage to fight those winter blues. But let’s face it, we can’t function properly by simply consuming larger amounts of coffee or hot chocolate. We have a sweetly satisfying solution that is both yummy and good for your body! Our Golden Turmeric latte is made from holistic ingredients that support your body during the cold season. Treat yourself to a sweet treat without the guilt or caffeine jitters.

Recipe:

  • 1 tbsp ginger root
  • 1 cup canned coconut milk 
  • 1 cup filtered water 
  • 1 tbsp turmeric root 
  • 1 tbsp Raw honey or maple syrup 
  • ½ tsp cinnamon 
  • 1 ½ tsps coconut oil 
  • Optional: add a pinch of black pepper to improve turmeric absorption

Directions:

  • Grate the ginger, squeeze the juice out and discard the pulp (tip: use a garlic press to squeeze out the juice - I leave a few small pieces of ginger in the sauce pan for additional flavor) 
  • Peel and grate the turmeric root (repeat as stated above) 
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the saucepan and put on medium heat 
  • Heat for about 3-5 minutes but don’t let it boil 
  • Whisk continuously 
  • Transfer to a jar with a sealed lid and shake for about 30 seconds until a foam starts to form 
  • Pour into your mug of choice through a strainer and enjoy!
