What are supplements, and why should I consider taking them?
Supplements are products containing essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, or herbs, that are intended to supplement one's diet. They can be beneficial in filling nutritional gaps, supporting overall health, and addressing specific health concerns.
Are dietary supplements safe to use?
When used as directed, dietary supplements can be safe for most individuals. However, we recommend that you consult with a healthcare professional or your personal doctor before starting any new supplement, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are currently taking any medications.
How do I choose the right supplement for my needs?
We recommend that everyone begins with our personalized quiz. Our in-house nutritionist, Karen, will use your answers to create a supplement routine, specific to you and your body’s needs! Also, be sure to reach out to your personal doctor or healthcare professional to understand which supplements are best for you.
Can dietary supplements replace a healthy diet?
While dietary supplements can help support nutrient intake, they should not replace a balanced and varied diet. Supplements should be viewed as a complement to a healthy diet, not a substitute.
Are there any potential side effects associated with dietary supplements?
Some dietary supplements may have potential side effects, especially if taken in excessive amounts or if you have an underlying medical condition. Consult with a healthcare professional before beginning to take supplements. It's important to follow recommended dosage instructions and be aware of any possible interactions with medications. If you experience any adverse effects, discontinue use and consult with your doctor.
Do your supplements have an expiration date?
Yes, all of our supplements have an expiration date listed on the bottom of the bottle. Please note that supplements keep their potency up to one year after opening and prior to the expiration date. After this date, we cannot guarantee the efficacy of the active ingredients.
What allergens do your supplements consider?
All avoided allergens are listed on the left side panel of the supplement label under “Contains No”, which can be reviewed on each product page. The majority of our supplements avoid wheat, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, crustacean shellfish, or fish. We never include artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Every supplement is double verified gluten-free.
What certifications do your supplements have?
Flavor & Fettle supplements are made from the highest-quality ingredients ranging from organic whole foods to carefully formulated vitamins and minerals. Our certifications include Non-GMO, Gluten-free, Vegan, with No artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
What do you mean by No GMO?
GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organisms or ingredients that have been artificially manipulated through genetic engineering, not traditional crossbreeding methods. We do not use ingredients that contain GMO raw materials in the production of our supplements.
What is Current Good Manufacturing Practices?
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is a process enforced by the Natural Products Association to ensure that the facility, process and equipment used to create our products adhere to the quality standards that ensure public safety. Everything from the raw materials to the final product is evaluated for its ability to deliver what is stated on the label. The manufacturing facility is regularly inspected to retain compliance status.
What is UL verified?
Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) is a third-party certification that assesses if a manufacturer upholds the regulations and standards for good manufacturing practices. Our manufacturing process meets these standards from the tested potency and purity of the raw ingredients used to the final product.
These standards meet the good manufacturing practices specific for dietary supplements (21 CFR 111).
What is Friend of the Sea?
Our Friend of the Sea certification for Flavor & Fettle Fish Oil ensures that the fish used to produce this supplement were sustainably sourced from qualified fisheries with aquaculture practices that meet the standards of the World Sustainability Organization.
Do your supplements have artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives?
Never.
What is the difference between certified organic by quality assurance international and USDA organic?
Quality assurance international is a certification company based in the U.S. that verifies the products labeled are organic and meet the standards established by the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) guidelines. This is a third-party certification company. The USDA organic certification indicates that the raw materials used meet the standards of the National Organic Program through Control Union Certifications. Both certifications meet the USDA guidelines for organic certification.
Do probiotics need to be refrigerated?
Flavor & Fettle probiotics do not have to be refrigerated; however, they can lose their potency when not stored in a cool dry place. For this reason, we recommend keeping them refrigerated for best use.
Are your packaging materials recyclable?
Yes, our amber glass bottles, canisters, caps, and packaging are all recyclable.

Creating an account is optional, but we recommend making one to see your order history and tracking information in one convenient place, as well as making checkout faster in the future.
How do I create an account
Create an account by clicking the icon to the right of the magnifying glass in the main menu or when prompted during checkout. You’ll need to provide an email address and create a password.

What countries do you ship to?
Currently, we ship within the United States only. For more information, see our Shipping Policy.
When will my order ship?
Orders will generally be processed and ready for shipment within 24 hours of the time the order is placed; however, we do not process or ship orders on Saturday, Sunday, or on major holidays. For more information, see our Shipping Policy.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Once shipped, your order should arrive in 2-5 days.
How do I track my order?
Once your order has been processed, a shipping confirmation email will be sent to the email associated with your order with your tracking number. For more information, see our Shipping Policy.

Can I make changes once my order has been placed?
If you have already received a shipping confirmation for your order, we will be unable to make any changes to it. If you have not received a shipping confirmation, contact us at support@flavorandfettle.com as soon as possible. Depending on what stage of fulfillment your order is at, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Payment information (e.g. payment method or billing address) cannot be changed once your order has been placed.
Can I cancel my order?
If you have not already received a shipping confirmation notice, you can request to cancel your order. Contact us at support@flavorandfettle.com.If you have received a shipping confirmation, your items are already on their way to you, and you will need to make a return.
What is your return policy?
We have a 30-day return policy, which means we will accept return requests for unopened and unused items within 30 days of their delivery date. For more information, please review our Refund Policy.
Do you offer free returns?
If the reason for the return is an error on our part (e.g., the wrong item was sent), we will cover the cost of the return shipping label. For all other reasons, the return label will be at the customer’s cost. For more information, please review our Refund Policy.
How long will it take to receive a refund?
Once we receive and accept the returned items, a refund will automatically beissued. Depending on the financial institution associated with the payment method, it can take 2-10 days to receive a refund. For more information, please review our Returns Policy.

Can I pay with my FSA/HSA/HRA?
We do not accept flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), or health reimbursement accounts (HRA) as a form of payment. Your supplements may be eligible for reimbursement, but you will need to check with your insurance provider for your plan’s reimbursement requirements.

Why are the supplements in amber glass bottles?
The use of amber glass bottles helps to not only protect the shelf life of the supplement, but also ensure that potency remains intact through the sell-by date listed on the bottom of each bottle. When exposed to light and moisture, some of the raw materials can lose their effectiveness which is why Flavor & Fettle uses amber glass bottles.
